Pressure Point Is 80% Sold Out

MOOSE JAW, SK — Tickets for Pressure Point, Reaper Wrestling's November 6 card at Hell's Pit, are now 80% sold out with six weeks still to go before the bell.

The card already carries TNA Wrestling's Mila Moore, Eddie Edwards, Frankie Kazarian and Jason Hotch, ECW legend Tommy Dreamer, plus Crazzy Steve. Bryce Hansen has been added to the card, and there are a whole lot more surprises still to come. Doors at 754 Fairford St W.

If you're waiting to see the full card before you buy, you may be waiting for a show you can't get into.

A destination, not a stop on the way

Something has shifted over the last year. Reaper has become a destination — a promotion people plan a night around rather than stumble into.

We hear it at the merch table every show. People who drove two hours. Three hours. People who booked a hotel so they could be in a room in Moose Jaw on a Friday night, because they had seen what happens in that room.

We set out to make this a place where some of the best wrestling anywhere is happening on a given night, and people are voting on that with their gas money. That's why this one is going early.

Sixteen months in

Reaper Wrestling has existed for sixteen months.

In that time the channel has passed 11,200 subscribers, and it climbs every week we put a match up. They came for the wrestling and they stayed for the wrestling.

The Underground Army is growing, and it's growing on the strength of the thing we said mattered.

A wrestling-first promotion

Here's the thing we keep coming back to.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of wrestling stopped being about the wrestling. The money and the meetings went into the lighting rig, the entrance stage, the graphics package, the sponsor reads, the brand partnerships, the merch drop, the content calendar. Production value became the product. Commercial value became the point. The match became the thing that happens between the parts somebody actually cared about.

We went the other way on purpose.

Reaper Wrestling is a wrestling-first promotion. That is the whole philosophy and we're not precious about it. The wrestling gets the budget. The wrestling gets the time. The wrestling is what we book the building around. Everything else exists to get you closer to it, or it doesn't exist at all.

The matches you rewatch aren't polished either

Be honest about this one.

The matches you go back to — the ones you've watched twenty times, the ones you send to your mates at one in the morning — go and look at what they actually look like.

The phone in your pocket shoots better video than most of them. Standard definition. One hard camera locked off at the back of a hall. A tape copied so many times the colour gave up. Sound that's mostly crowd. If somebody handed you that footage today you'd call it rough.

It is rough. That's part of why it works.

Now, we're not lo-fi for the sake of being lo-fi. We shoot three cameras, because what happens in that ring deserves to be caught properly and we want you to see all of it.

What we don't do is build the match around the cameras. Nobody here gets told to take the bump on the other side because it reads better off hard camera. Nobody gets told to hit a mark so the jib can find them. Nobody gets a spot cut because it's awkward to shoot. The match goes where the match goes, and the cameras keep up.

So yes — sometimes the lighting is off. Sometimes an angle gets blocked by a guy standing up. Sometimes it looks like what it is: a fight in a room.

We're fine with that. We're not big corporate. We don't want to be big corporate.

A room that's built for it

Hell's Pit is small and loud and close, and we're not apologising for any of that. When the front row is an arm's length from the ring, you don't need a video wall to sell you on a near-fall. You can hear the impact. You can see the sweat. You're not watching a wrestling show, you're in one.

Six weeks out and it's 80% gone. When it's full, it's full.
